Bishop Dr. Myrtle Scott attended the local elementary school and graduated from William Henry high school in Dover. She also attended Delaware State College. Dr. Scott received her Master's degree in Ministry from the Christian Life School of Theology and Seminary, and her Doctorate of Ministry from the Logos Graduate School in Jacksonville, Florida.
Bishop Scott served as Pastor of the M.F. Chase Unity Memorial Church for 14 years. The new M.F. Chase Unity Memorial Church was built under the administration and vision of Dr. Scott.
Dr. Scott is the Founder and Pastor of Beacon Lighthouse Church in West Dover, Delaware, where God gave her a vision in 1997. She is also the Founder of Project Reach out, an anti-drug computer tutorial program for youth.
Dr. Scott worked for Playtex Apparel in Dover, Delaware for 37 years, after which she retired on September 30, 2002. She was married to the late Paul Scott and has 4 sons and 4 daughters with many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bishop Myrtle Scott loves the Lord and is excited about carrying out God's Will. Working in the vineyard where God has ordered her steps has priority in her life.
Pastor Scott feels that the arms of God have lifted her above situations and circumstances to give her a peek behind the curtain of time to view a little of what He has ordained for Beacon Lighthouse.
We must be that light shining bright that men, women, boys, and girls will see Christ and ask, "What must I do to be saved?"
